Selena Gomez has been promoting her latest film with Ethan Hawke, 'Getaway', and she opens up about her desire to take an extended break from music to focus on acting.
She reveals, "Music is very dangerous. It's fickle and scary. I've done four records. This is my most successful, which is why I think it's a good place to stop."
She also reveals her desire to focus on acting for the next few years, explaining, "I've gone to all the music events and it's just different. I've been able to geek out at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and it's like a community. When you're acting, you're part of a family that helps you, you have to have a great script and a great director and a great cast. At the end of the day when I'm on stage performing, it's just me on that stage. It's a little bit more vain."
Gomez has previously explained that she was actually offered more acting opportunities after starring in 'Spring Breakers', although she did start acting on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. We'll have to see if she breaks out of being known as a Disney star or whether she'll only be known for music, but she's definitely trying to establish herself as a triple threat.
Speaking of her decision to focus on acting, Gomez explained, "This (Stars Dance) is my last album for a while. "I'm going to tour it and then just get into acting for a really long period of time."
Next up for Selena Gomez is the movie Getaway with Ethan Hawke, while she also has the movie Behaving Badly with Elisabeth Shue, as well as Rudderless with Jamie Chung. Selena Gomez has also been linked to a role in the movie The Sky Is Everywhere.
