Selita Ebanks is the former fiancée of actor/comedian Nick Cannon and these two experienced an awkward moment on Katie Couric’s talk show when they both were scheduled as guests. The show’s producers probably were not aware of the fact that Ebanks was formally engaged to Cannon. Ebanks surprised Cannon on the show with her unexpected presence. The moment was awkward for the both of them because Cannon is now married to singing sensation Mariah Carey.

Hollywood marriages and courtship's can be very challenging and difficult for stars and entertainers who work in the business. Many marriages and engagements end rather quickly and often times for no apparent reason. In the case of Selita and Ebanks, the fashion model hinted in an interview that she did not feel like she was going to be Cannon’s wife. Apparently there was some type of disconnect between the couple.
Selita and Cannon both conducted themselves in a sensible manner. Cannon gave Selita a friendly hug and let everyone know that they were both good friends. Honestly it was the best move for both celebrities. Their engagement had ended years ago and they both seemed to have enjoyed the moment with each other as friends. Cannon is happy with Mariah and Selita is happy with her life as well. If one of them were upset about running into each other then things could have turned out bad for the both of them. Thankfully, they have moved on with their lives and are no longer living in the past.
