Serena Williams rolled into quarterfinals of the US Open with 6-3, 6-3 win over Kaia Kanepi of Estonia and provided notice that she is ready for a return to the winners circle of this Grand Slam. She won the match in just over an hour but what most impressed some of her fans and social media tennis observers was the return of her mental game.
She is known for not only punishing opponents with her serve but also showing no signs of doubt and playing with incredible passion. No one knows what was going on in her life in the earlier Grand Slam tournaments but there was something missing. Rarely did one hear the shouts of encouragement to herself or her shouting 'Yes' after scoring a big point in tournaments during the year but the joy that usually accompanies her play as well as the confidence that she can and will win every match if not every point is back and that is bad news for the rest of the field.
After she won her match against Kaia Kanepi she loudly expressed her joy during an on-court interview to the crowd and the 'shocked' interviewer about how happy she was to finally have reached the quarterfinal of a Grand Slam Tournament in 2014.
At that moment the gorgeous tennis player, who just before the start of the tournament had appeared on The David Letterman show and broke a store window with a forehand tennis shot while looking absolutely stunning in a black crop top and white skirt, showed how much winning Grand Slams means to her.
One of the things that makes Serena Williams so popular is that fans can relate to unbridled passion and a desire to win. Her being unafraid to show that she wants to win and her work ethic, her energy on the court has made her a favourite just like her on court fashion.
Serena Williams plays Flavia Pennetta of Italy in the quarterfinals of the US Open, a match that any fan of Serena Williams will want to see because it looks like Serena Williams is back in form on the court and when she is, it is an enjoyable sight to see for lovers of tennis, fashion and beautiful women.
