Serena Williams has been a dominant force in tennis for many years now and has managed to bag herself an impressive five Wimbledon titles so far in her career to date. A lot of people are tipping Serena to win Wimbledon again this year but the women's World number 1 has been struggling on the grass court this year, slipping on a number of occasions during her first round match.
Following her first round win over Anna Tatishvili, Williams said, "I'll see tomorrow. I fell so many times it was weird because I usually feel really good. I just kept falling today but it's probably (about) getting my bearings. I didn't play much grass last year and so I think I'll be okay. Every time I step out on that court makes me want to keep coming here for years and years."
Despite her comments, Serena Williams continued to struggle with her footing on the grass, as she once again took a tumble during her doubles match with her sister Venus Williams. The Williams sisters won their doubles match over Oksana Kalashnikova and Olga Savchuk 5-7 6-1 6-4, with Serena slipping and taking a tumble over the stand. Fortunately though, she saw the funny side of things and laughed the incident off.
With Serena Williams struggling to keep her footing in every match at Wimbledon so far this year, it will be interesting to see how she gets on against Chanelle Scheepers in the second round. Serena Williams and Chanelle Scheepers will be on Court 1 at 1pm.
