When it was revealed that Josh Trank would be directing a big screen adaptation of the hit Playstation 2 video game Shadow of Colossus, a few eye brows were raised. After all, video games have not exactly been hugely success when made into Hollywood blockbusters.
With that said, it is definitely possible to make it work, as proven by the success of the Resident Evil movie franchise, which has made almost $900m from its movies. Add to that the fact that Josh Trank has the potential to be one of the best directors in the business and Shadow of Colossus could be a huge hit.
Way back in 2009, a screenplay for the Shadow of Colossus movie was written by Justin Marks and now it has been confirmed that Canadian writer Seth Lochhead, who penned the script for Hanna, will team up with Josh Trank to rewrite the script for Shadow of Colossus.
Shadow of Colossus is set to be produced by Kevin Misher, while Andy Berman and Kevin Chang of Misher Films will be overseeing. With that said, it could still be some time before work even begins on the Shadow of Colossus film and even longer before it hits the big screen.
