There have been a lot of different reality talent shows on television over the years but one of the most popular ones in the US right now would have to be the hit singing competition The Voice. We have seen a few different coaches on The Voice over the past few season, with singer Shakira sitting in the red chair for two seasons of the show.
While Shakira has become a bit of a hit with the fans of The Voice, the singer has now confirmed that she will quit the show following the end of the current season of The Voice. Shakira says that she has had a great time on The Voice and has loved being able to help the contestants grow as artists.
Shakira explained, "I don't have any plans of coming back. This was always temporary, but you never know. I never thought I would be on a show like this one, but with the nature of the show, we're not just judges, but we're coaches. We're helping new talent flourish. That made me change my mind and say yes to being here."
Shakira then went on to admit that she needs to focus on her own music career for a while, as well as bringing up her son Milan, "Honestly, I've had a blast. I love the show, I love the people here. I love the producers, the fellow coaches. It's been fun. But right now, I have to go on with my life as an artist. I'm not really a TV celebrity. I have to do a tour, and other stuff like being a mother."
While Shakira will quit as a coach on The Voice, it has already been confirmed that Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams will join the show as new coaches.
