It has been confirmed that Colombian singer Shakira is to be awarded with the Latin Grammy Person of the Year Award at this year’s Latin Grammy’s. Shakira has revealed how honoured she is to be chosen for the award and the organisers are equally as honoured to choose her.
President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, Gabriel Abaroa Jr. explained, "We are honoured to pay homage to this dynamic, socially conscious woman whose illustrious career has touched so many people around the world, both musically and personally."
Shakira also added, "It is truly an honour to be in the company of some of the greatest artists and legends of Latin Music." The Latin Grammy’s are set to take place, live from the Mandalay Bay Events Centre in Las Vegas on November 10.
