It seems like 2014 is going to bring us a year full of fantastic new music, with a number of stars already teasing us with upcoming new albums, which will be preceded by some new singles. Earlier this week, singer Louis Tomlinson told his followers on Twitter how he was excited to start work on the new One Direction album, while other stars are also releasing new records this year.
One such singer, who is preparing for the release of her latest album, is Colombian singer Shakira, who has teased fans about her new record. The new Shakira album will be self-titled and the singer has spoken about her work on the record, admitting that she found that she had learned a lot about herself along the way.
Shakira wrote on Facebook, "The work on this album has spanned a very eventful time, with many ups and downs but ultimately, the happiest period in my life thus far, including the birth of my son. When the time came to put a name to this album, I realised that it's not exactly a thematic album, though love is and always has been one of my main subjects and sources for inspiration. It's also not necessarily conceptual, as some of my albums have been in the past. In the end, what I realised is that throughout the course of creating this body of work, I learned a lot about myself."
It is for these reasons that Shakira has decided to call her upcoming new album Shakira, as she feels a great connection to the record. Fans of Shakira will be able to get their hands on the new album when it drops on March 25, with at least one single coming out before the album is released.
