Fans of Eastenders will have been less than surprised to see Alfie jilt Roxy and chase after Kat but what would that mean for the future of the show? Well, Shane Richie has now spoken about upcoming episodes, revealing that we will see the Roxy of old, with her partying ways and feisty attitude.
During a recent chat with Inside Soap, Richie explained, "Roxy was always a wild child while Alfie's a stay-at-home dad, so she's got her freedom back - and she'll be throwing it in Alfie's face."
He added, "Instead of playing the downtrodden woe-is-me routine, she's playing it more like, 'Stuff you, Alfie! Now I can get back to being the person I want to be'. We're going to see more of the old-style Roxy Mitchell - that feisty girl who's happy to get drunk and be naughty."
This latest turn of events in Eastenders will see Alfie leave the Queen Vic, pathing the way for a new landlord to take over. This will lead to the introduction of new character Mick Carter this Christmas, who will be played by none other than Danny Dyer.
