Sheridan Smith is all set to 'shock' film-goers with her new film, according to her recent interview with the Standard. She claims that her new movie, 'Powder Room', will be a surprise to men because it will reveal what women are really like in nightclubs, regarding a range of topics including drugs and sex.
She also adds, "Often women are portrayed as quite twee or quite glossy. There was something real about this, if a little bit crude at times. It will shock some people. A lot of men will be like, ‘Does this really go on?’ In a ladies’ toilet, your guard is down and people cry, you’re drunk and have dialled your ex and somebody has been sick. But many people will relate to it.”
She also suggests that all film-goers go see the movie and make up their own mind, explaining, "There’s so much heart to the film. The message is be confident, happy and true to yourself.”
The film co-stars Jaime Winstone and was directed by debut director MJ Delaney, but it seems like Sherian's strong point of view is also included in the film, and it's not a stereotypical view on the female/male relationship. It will officially be released on December 6th in the UK, and worldwide distribution rights haven't yet been picked up.
