There have been many critics of the hit reality television competition, The X Factor, ever since the show first aired 10 years ago. While the show has given us some very successful acts and changed the lives of many people, there are still those that feel it has a negative impact on the music industry.
During the early stages of this years The X Factor, there was a lot of talk by the judges, about how this is the strongest year that they have ever had but, now they are at the live shows, that really does not seem to be the case. There were a lot of weak performances on Saturday nights live show and the group song on Sunday was severely lacking.
It would be too harsh to say that none of the acts this year have what it takes, as there is some talent on this years X Factor. Abi Alton has a rather unique sounding voice, is a multi-instrumentalist and writes her own songs, while Kingsland Road have what it takes to rival for X Factor contestants One Direction.
With that said The X Factor does not quite have the appeal that it once did. While the show will continue to make stars and money, the public seem about done with the show. The show needs a complete overhaul to try to freshen it up but, if truth be told, it is probably time that the X Factor came to an end.
