Past Sports Illustrated cover model Petra Nemcova was recently interviewed by the legendary PBS television host Charlie Rose about being a past cover model and to talk about her charity, the Happy Hearts Fund and Petra Nemcova shined as she explained why she created the charity and whom it benefits.
Petra's appearance showed her impressive intelligence and caring personality during the interview and showed that she is definitely "not a dumb blonde" in any sense and that while her fame did originate from her modelling she is also a very respected philanthropist who not only believes in helping those less fortunate but is actually backing up her words with action and in the process has become one of the most talked about Sports Illustrated models of 2014.
Petra Nemcova started off 2014 with an appearance on the cover of the January/February 2014 issue of Shape magazine which reminded her fans and people within the fashion industry that she still possesses the body of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model. This appearance on the cover has been followed up by numerous appearances at Sports Illustrated Swimsuit events to celebrate 50 years of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Petra was recently part of the group of past Sports Illustrated cover models who attended Barbie's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Sports Illustrated issue in New York City and true to form she looked as if she could still model any swimsuit that she wants. However, her appearances have helped her bring attention to the goals of her charity which is to improve the lives of children in natural disaster areas through educational and sustainable programs.
Petra Nemcova has used the attention that her past and current modelling accomplishments attracts to help out others and in the process she has galvanized organizations such as Sports Illustrated and numerous celebrities to help support her charity. As such, Petra Nemcova can no longer be looked at as solely a beautiful supermodel as she is now a philanthropist leader.
