Hollywood actress Sigourney Weaver has been in the acting industry for decades now, playing some very interesting characters in some impressive movies during the course of her long and illustrious career. Next up for Sigourney is a role in the upcoming movie Exodus: Gods and Kings and the actress has been talking about what to expect from the film and how her character affects what happens throughout the movie.
Weaver explained, "It’s the biblical one, and I play Tuya, the wife of one of the pharaohs. My son is Ramses the Great, played by Joel Edgerton. John Turturro is the Pharaoh Seti. I’m not his favorite wife, but I’m the mother of the prince. To keep my power, I need my son to become pharaoh."
She then went on to add, "Moses, played by Christian Bale, is the golden boy. He makes my son look impulsive and small-minded. Through the whole movie, in basically every scene I have, it’s: 'Kill Moses.' 'Why didn’t you kill Moses?' 'For crying out loud, will you please kill Moses!'"
As well as starring Sigourney Weaver, Joel Edgerton, John Turturro, and Christian Bale, the rest of the impressive cast of Exodus: Gods and Kings includes such names as Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Ben Mendelsohn, and Indira Varma, among others. Exodus: Gods and Kings has been directed by Ridley Scott and is set to be released on December 12 in the US, before then going on to hit the big screen in the UK on December 26. We cannot wait!
