It seems that everyone has been talking about the decision by Zayn Malik to quit the boyband One Direction and, while every seems to have an opinion on things, there is one man close to it all that has now offered up a few words. Simon Cowell is the man responsible for putting One Direction together and guiding their careers and Simon has now opened up about Zayn.
Cowell explained, "He's a fantastic singer. Look, he's got to get his head together a little bit. He needs some time on his own, as he said, to be a normal 22-year-old, which he's gonna have."
The One Direction boss then went on to talk about how the decision will impact the rest of the boyband, adding, "I've always said to all of them, the future's bright depending on what you want to do. We've always hoped that One Direction would stay together for a long time and my hunch is it still will. They're just too good for everything to stop now."
Not finished there though, Simon Cowell also admitted that when Zayn Malik told the rest of the One Direction boys his decision to quit, they were just as shocked as the rest of the world, "They were surprised and shocked but now they've... got used to it, and they're being professional and respecting the fans who turned up to see a great show."
One Direction are currently on a short break from their On The Road Again tour but, rather than taking the time to relax, they have been in the recording studio working on their new music, with a One Direction new album possible for later in the year. Watch this space!
