Multi millionaire music mogul Simon Cowell has revealed that he did not like Will Young when he first met him at his very first Pop Idol audition and that he still does not like the singer. Simon claims that Will came across as very arrogant and obnoxious and that he desperately wanted Gareth Gates to beat Will Young in the 2001 Pop Idol final.
Cowell explained, "I thought he was obnoxious, full of himself. I thought this will be interesting, you don't like me, I don't like you and nothing's changed particularly. I still to this day can't watch the final back because I was really, really disappointed. I really liked Gareth and wanted him to win. I remember feeling it in my stomach, I felt sick, that's how much it affected me; it shouldn't but it did."
Will Young has gone on to have a very successful career in music and has even ventured out in to a bit of acting as well, whereas Gareth Gates will probably be most remembered for the fact that he lost his virginity to model Jordan aka Katie Price. Simon Cowell has since gone on to create The X Factor, which has been a huge hit in the UK and had its first season in the US last year.
