So the X-Men: Days of Future Past movie is just a few weeks away from being released and there have been plenty of rumours about what is going to happen with the film. One of the biggest talking points over the course of production has been the involvement of Anna Paquin as Rogue.
Anna Paquin plays Rogue

It was first expected that we would see Anna Paquin playing Rogue in X-Men: Days of Future Past for quite a fair amount of the movie. It was then claimed that her scenes did not fit with the plot of the movie so she was edited out. Then it was said that Rogue would have a small cameo appearance. Now, writer Simon Kinberg has given his views on things.

Kinberg told Crave Online, "I just wanted to see Ian [McKellan] and Patrick [Stewart] on a mission together. So I took them away from the main plot of the movie so that they could go off and do something, and [Rogue] was the MacGuffin of that mission. It was a perfectly fine 10 minutes of the film that didn’t fit the film."

That was clearly the reason for withdrawing Rogue from the film but Kinberg does not seem to know much about her small cameo appearance, "So we pulled her out of the movie and pulled that plot out of the film. I can’t speak to any other rumors about any other way she could appear in the film, but I can tell you that the main plot that we shot with her, we pulled out of the movie."

X-Men: Days of Future Past will have a mix of original stars and the new cast including the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Patrick Stewart and Bingbing Fan. Bryan Singer directs X-Men: Days of Future Past and the movie opens on May 22 in the UK and May 23 in the US.
