25-year-old actor Skylar Astin has already had a fairly successful acting career and, with his boyish good looks, he still has many more years ahead of him. Skylar has opened up about what he wanted to be when he was younger, before he discovered his love of acting.
Astin explained, "I wanted to play baseball, but I just wasn’t good enough, so I had to get real with myself. At one time or another, I guess I wanted to be a lot of things — astronaut, therapist, whatever — but once I got bitten by the (performance) bug, there was nothing else I could imagine myself doing.”
Skylar also admitted that he has had to develop a thick skin over the years, “I’m very proud of a lot of the things I’ve done, especially ‘Pitch Perfect,’ but it never gets easy. You have to be open to do anything and learn not to take criticism, rejection and other things personally."
Skylar Astin will next appear on the big screen, starring with the likes of Alexis Knapp and Chad Michael Murray, in the movie Cavemen, which is written and directed by Herschel Faber, with a planned release for later in the year.
