Sophia Bush was spotted this weekend looking dazzling at the Pencils for Promise Gala in New York. Since her Once Tree Hill days, Sophia Bush has been a very progressive activist for change. However, she has not let go of acting. Starting January, we can get a weekly dose of her as she graces our television again on NBC's Chicago PD.
Bush's latest acting gig will have her playing Erin Lindsay, a member of the CPD investigative team. Lindsay has an unexpected past. Bush is replacing Melissa Sagemiller as the lead female of Chicago PD. The spinoff of Chicago Fire is set for a midseason premiere date.
This new role is not stopping Sophia Bush, the activist. Since the age of six, Bush has been working for change. This year, she hosted VH1's Do Something Awards to honor five youth activist. Bush uses her social media to make people aware of what they can do to change our world. She believes knowledge is empowerment. Currently, Bush is helping kick off Invisible Children's Fourth Estate Leadership Summit. It is suppose to be the largest human rights event in history. The event is scheduled for August 2014.
Sophia Bush has never played a cop before, and cops play a key role in social change. Can she use this role to make her two worlds meet? We will see if Chicago PD handle any storylines that displays the actresses passions for causes.
