When you take on a role in a comic book movie, it is pretty much a given that you are going to have to go through some big changes in preparation for playing a superhero on the big screen. As well as having to go through some intense training workouts, there is also the diet that will need to be considered and changed in a big way.
Game of Thrones beauty Sophie Turner landed the role of Jean Grey for the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse and she now knows first hand exactly what is required to play a comic book superhero. Sophie has now opened up about her X-Men training, claiming that the workouts and the diet have changed her life for the better.
During a recent chat with SELF magazine, Turner explained, "It was all outside, around London, which was more fun than being cooped up in a gym. I need to do fun stuff that takes my mind off the fact that I'm working out. Exercise has made me feel more positive about my body, less self-conscious."
She added, "I don't know if I look any different, but I feel stronger, and I can do more, which is such a good feeling. It's so liberating. I've really embraced healthy eating. It makes you feel a lot better and more energetic. I'm inspired to get up and out."
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit the big screen in the UK today (May 18), before then going on to open in the US on May 27.
