We have seen a huge amount of movie remakes over the years and, while a lot of these remakes have gone on to fall well short of the original films, with some remakes being completely unnecessary, there have been some that have come at the right time and have worked to perfection. So, with so many remakes being talked about every year, we have decided to take a look at some movie remakes that really could work.
First up with have the comic book character Spawn, which had a big screen adaptation back in 1997 but fell well short of what fans were hoping for. The biggest problem with the Spawn movie was the fact that they chose to go with a PG-13 rating, when it should definitely have been given an R rating and gone all out on the more mature themes of the comic. A Spawn remake as an R rated movie would certainly please the comic book fans and could even draw in a new crowd to the material.
Next up with have Blade, which has already enjoyed a very successful trilogy in the past, with Wesley Snipes playing the lead role and managing to bring in plenty of money at the box office. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe dominating things in Hollywood, it would be the perfect time to bring Blade back to the big screen. Wesley Snipes has previously spoken of his desire to star in a fourth Blade film but we would love to see a new, younger star taking on the role and bringing the character to the MCU.
Finally we have Highlander, which has been giving us a whole host of different movies, as well as a television series, ever since the impressive movie of 1986. There has been a lot of talk about a Highlander remake being brought to the big screen, with Ryan Reynolds on board at one time, before dropping out, while a number of different directors have come and gone. With the right people on board, a Highlander remake could be perfect and we would certainly look forward to seeing it.
Which movies would you love to see getting a remake in the near future?
