Spider-Man, The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four: Marvel planning multi crossover movie

It appears that the success of The Avengers has got everybody associated with Marvel movies very excited and there appears to be plans afoot to make more crossover movies. Newly appointed Marvel creative consultant for Fox, Mark Millar has admitted that it is something that they would very much like to make happen.

Millar explained to SFX, “Fox have said they want to build a cohesive universe and I'd personally like this to work in compliment to the Marvel one. It would be cool if these universes didn't contradict each other so if you want to see Spidey, The Avengers, the X-Men etc as a viewer you would have no idea that all three are coming from different studios. I'd love to make it look like they're all just happening in one place.”

He added, “I don't think it's something anyone would want to rush into; following the Marvel model, we want to establish things first. If you had a Fantastic Four relaunch, and Wolverine and the X-Men were in it, I think it would distract you from the Fantastic Four. You can make people aware that they're existing in the same universe without making a big crossover movie, but it would be an injustice to the Fantastic Four not to make their first movie about them.”

While it is a great idea and would make fantastic business sense, there are still a few issues about how it would work. For a start, we find it hard to see Fox and Sony do a crossover together but that is just one stumbling block. We would love to see more Marvel crossover movies similar to that of The Avengers but we cannot see it happening any time soon.
