Despite the fact that there were a lot of fans and critics who were very disappointed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot movie last year, the film did still go on to make almost $500m worldwide, making it a financial success for the studio. It is no surprise then, that is was agreed to green light the sequel, which has already started shooting and will introduce some fan favourite characters.
As most of you will be well aware by now, Arrow star Stephen Amell will take on the role of Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and he has been teasing fans about what to expect from the character. Stephen says that this version of Casey Jones is not one that the comic book fans will be all too familiar with, although it does sound like the character could definitely win fans over.
Amell revealed, "It's certainly not your father's or your younger self's Casey Jones, but that's because we meet him at a very different time in his development. He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love. He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they're [a] law-abiding citizen and he's met with laughter and scorn... he decides to take things into his own hands."
As well as seeing Casey Jones introduced into the movie, we are also going to get to see Bebop and Rocksteady making their appearance in the film. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is this time being directed by Dave Green and is set to hit the big screen on June 3, 2016 in both the US and the UK.
