There is no shortage of very talented British stars in Hollywood these days, with a whole host of talented actors and actresses. Benedict Cumberbatch has enjoyed a huge rise to superstardom, appearing in some huge movies in recent years. Doctor Who star Matt Smith is now becoming a big name in Hollywood and showrunner Steven Moffat has compared the two stars.

Benedict Cumberbatch has become a huge star
Moffat was chatting away in the latest edition of the Radio Times, when he explained, "Benedict and Matt are both fascinating actors – they’re never going to play James Bond, they’re not leading men, they’re not Brad Pitt."
He added, “They’ll always chose the interesting script over the glamorous part. But that’s good. Stars tend to have very short careers, while Ian McKellen will be working until he’s 80, and they have that quality."

Matt Smith is on the rise
Benedict Cumberbatch will appear in the upcoming movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, when the movie hits the big screen on December 13 in both the US and the UK. Meanwhile, Matt Smith will appear in the Ryan Gosling directorial debut How to Catch a Monster, starring alongside the likes of Jessica Chastain, Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan.
