Legendary director Steven Spielberg has opened up about his reasons for delaying the movie Robopocalypse. Steven says that he has decided to put the shooting of the movie on hold, as he readdresses the budget and works on a rewrite of the script.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Spielberg explained, “We found that the film was costing a lot of money and I found a better way to tell the story more economically but also much more personally.”
He added, “I found the personal way into Robopocalypse, and so I just told everybody to go find other jobs, I’m starting on a new script and we’ll have this movie back on its feet soon.”
Steven was then asked whether the delay would be a very long one and whether he would be dropping the project completely, to which he responed, “Not at all. I’m working on it as we speak.”
Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg was celebrating yesterday, as the nominations for the 2013 Oscars were released. Steven is again up for the Best Director Oscar, while his movie Lincoln has been nominated for 12 Awards.
