So it looks like the new Steven Spielberg project, which can only be referred to as an untitled Cold War thriller, is really beginning to come together nicely, especially in terms of the casting of the movie. We already knew that Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks would be playing the lead role in the film and it has now been confirmed that he is getting a rather impressive supporting cast to help him out.
With the untitled Cold War thriller set to start shooting in September in New York and Berlin, it makes sense that the cast is coming together, with Eve Hewsen set to play Tom Hanks daughter, while Amy Ryan will sign on to play his wife in the film. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Alan Alda and Billy Magnussen are also in talks to appear in the movie.
While there is not a great deal known about the currently untitled Cold War thriller, it is known that the movie will mainly centre on "an American lawyer, who is recruited by the CIA during the Cold War to help rescue a pilot detained in the Soviet Union."
Writer Matt Charman handed in the original script for the untitled Cold War thriller, which has now been handed to Ethan Cohen and Joel Cohen for some important rewrites of the script. While we do not yet know what the official title of this movie will be, we do know when we can expect to see it, with a release date currently expected for October 16, 2015 in the US. We will keep you up to date with progress on the project.
