Steven Spielberg has been good friends with George Lucas for many, many years and the two have worked together on a number of movies. Spielberg is the director that brought to life the Indiana Jones movies, all of which were under the LucasFilm banner.
With how close these two men have become over the years and how many times that they have worked together, you would have thought that either George Lucas would have tried to persuade Steven Spielberg to get on board with LucasFilm, or Steven Spielberg would have tried to persuade George Lucas to allow him in on LucasFilm.
