Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks has been forced to hang her head and apologise for the appalling remarks that she made about American Idol judge Nicki Minaj. Stevie was furious when she learnt that Nicki had fallen out with fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey and that Nicki had threatened to shoot Mariah.

However, there is no evidence that Nicki said anything of the sort and she even took to her official Twitter page to deny making the threat. Yet this did not deter Stevie Nicks who had a huge rant in defence of her friend Mariah Carey, claiming that she would have killed Nicki Minaj.
Nicks said at the time, “How dare this little girl! ... If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there. I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it.”

Unfortunately for Stevie, these comments were not taken lightly and some people in some high places were not impressed by the remarks. Now, she has had to backtrack on what she said and has issued an official statement apologising to Nicki.
The statement said, "I want to apologise for my remarks about Nicki Minaj's behavior toward Mariah Carey, which I said during a long and exhausting day of interviews. It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said.”
It added, "I feel very protective toward Mariah Carey, who has gone through many difficulties in her life, and I spoke without thinking. I think all artists should be respectful toward one another and that includes me. I am truly sorry.”
Let’s hope Nicki Minaj forgives her or there could be another death threat on the cards.
