Texas born actor Jared Padalecki recently completed filming of season 9 of his hit television show "Supernatural" and the show has already been confirmed as returning for a tenth season in no small part due to his outstanding performance this past season. It looks like he will have a couple months off to enjoy the summer before returning to film the next season as there are no indications that he has any projects lined up but his acting has attracted the attention of movie filmmakers who look at him as an actor who can be a leading man in a dramatic action adventure role.
His presence in "Supernatural" has helped make the show a ratings winner and filmmakers envision his presence in their project as almost a guarantee that any project he is a part of would receive significant fan support because of the popularity of his television show on which he has played a lead role for almost 10 years.
His last movie was "Friday the 13th" in 2009 as since that time he has focused completely on his television show. Over the past several years entertainment insiders have watched him improve his acting range and not be satisfied with the status quo concerning his performance. As such, filmmakers looking for an actor who could make the transition from star on the small screen to leading man star on the big screen could not help but notice the consistency with which he has been providing exceptional performances during the 2013-14 season of "Supernatural".
Jared Padalecki may not be a 'big' name in Hollywood when the topic is movies but he is definitely an actor who has the attention of many filmmakers. As such he might soon have to decide whether he wants to balance movies and television because he is going to be the recipient of multiple scripts and his growth as an actor, in particular his ability to show different dimensions of a character as he does with Sam Winchester in "Supernatural" might soon necessitate a move to the big screen.
