Susan Sarandon is one of the most prolific actresses of her generation, but the movie that she's perhaps best remember for is 'Thelma & Louise'. Thelma & Louise also served as a launching pad for Brad Pitt's career, along with establishing Susan Sarandon and co-star Geena Davis as two of the best talents of their generation.
Susan is currently promoting 'Tammy', but recently revealed in an interview that she would love to do a Thelma & Louise sequel. When asked about working with Geena Davis again, Susan replied, "I’d love to work with her again. They had kind of knocked around some ideas of a sequel to “Thelma & Louise,” but they were so ridiculous."
She adds that she still understand what they would do in such a sequel, apart from pocketing a large amount of cash. She jokes that if they did do the sequel, they would have to do it sitting down because she's still 'shrinking' whereas Geena is still 6 feet. In Thelma & Louise, that wasn't an issue because they were in the car during most of the movie. In a sequel scenario, it would be tough to put them back in the exact same situation as the first film.
Either way, a Thelma & Louise sequel has been kicking around Hollywood for a long time, but has never come to fruition. The biggest reason thrown around for a lack of movement on the sequel is that people don't have any ideas on what they would do, which echoes Susan's earlier statement. It looks like everybody wants Thelma & Louise to stay a classic without adding unnecessary sequels, even if the actors are open to doing such sequels.
