With the amount of huge Hollywood blockbusters that get released every year, we can sometimes over look the smaller films, which is why we are bringing you the first Ping Pong Summer trailer that was recently released. Ping Pong Summer stars Susan Sarandon and Lea Thompson and has been doing the festival scene this year, before opening later in 2014.
Ping Pong Summer looks to be full of laughs and the film has been described as being set in the summer of 1985 and centres around a shy 13-year-old boy (Marcello Conte) who heads of to Ocean City for a family vacation and finds himself striking up some new friendships along the way. The young boy develops a crush on a girl, as well as becoming embroiled in the local ping pong scene.
As well as starring Susan Sarandon, Lea Thompson and Marcello Conte, the Ping Pong Summer cast also features Amy Sedaris, John Hannah, and Judah Friedlander. Ping Pong Summer has been directed by Michael Tully from the screenplay that he wrote himself, with a VOD release date planned for June 6.
If Ping Pong Summer manages to live up to the trailer, it looks like it could be one of the most fun films of 2014, although there is no chance of it threatening to make any waves at any awards ceremonies.
