We love awards season and, as is the case with every year, we have been thoroughly looking forward to watching the Oscars this year and seeing which stars will walk away with an Academy Award. Unfortunately though, the Oscars 2016 has been surrounded by a race row, with a lot of people angry about the lack of diversity within the nominations, which has really taken the focus off of those who have been nominated.
So, rather than following suit and focusing on the race issue that the Academy Awards is facing, we have instead decided to focus on one of the very big positives of the nominations. Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone has been working in the acting industry for many years now, giving us plenty of iconic characters along the way, yet failing to get the recognition that his talent deserves.
Well, that has all changed this year, as Sylvester Stallone has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar at this years Academy Awards, for his performance as Rocky Balboa in the new movie Creed. Sly's performance in the movie was so effortless that it was almost as if he was just playing himself and it helped to bring the film back up to the top-level where the Rocky franchise belongs.
While many have confirmed they will boycott the Oscars this year, we will most certainly be tuning in and cheering on Sylvester Stallone, as him winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar at this years Academy Awards will be the positive and happy story of the biggest awards ceremony on Earth. Good luck Sly!
The 88th Academy Awards will take place on February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
