It has been revealed that filming for the movie Taken 2 is set to begin earlier than first thought and will start shooting in October. It was previously suggested that filming on the sequel would not begin until 2012 but producer Luc Besson has confirmed that they date has been brought forward.

Up until March of this year it was being claimed that Liam Neeson, the star of the 2007 hit Taken, was set to be replaced for the sequel. However, in March it was revealed that Neeson was close to signing on to the project before confirming that he would definitely be back.
Besson, who also wrote the screenplay for Taken 2, along with Robert Mark Kamen, also revealed that Famke Janssen will also be returning as Neeson’s wife. Taken 2 will be directed by Olivier Megaton and is expected to be released some time in 2013.
