There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not there will be a Taken 3 and also whether or not there should one. Taken star Liam Neeson insisted that there will not be a Taken 3 but then he also said that about Taken 2, yet he was not the only one to say so.
Now, it appears that after seeing how impressive Taken 2 has been doing at the box office, Taken 3 could happen after all. Writer Robert Mark Kamen told Hollywood Reporter, “We didn't start talking about Taken 3 until we saw the numbers, but then we said 'oh okay, I think we should do a third one'. And Fox wants us to do a third one.”
However, Taken 3 will see the theme of the movie going in a different direction, “We've taken everything we can - it's going to go in another direction. Should be interesting,” added Kamen.
With Taken 2 having already amounted over $122m gross worldwide it is no surprise that Fox want a third instalment but is there really any need for it. Many people were left disappointed by Taken 2 and fans are a bit dubious about Taken 3 being made. Yet the numbers do not lie and profit is the key in the world of movie making, so expect Taken 2 to be in cinemas around 2015.
