It seems that up and coming singer Lorde has had a bit of a change of heart when it comes to the way she feels about fellow musician Taylor Swift. It was not that long ago that Lorde has spoken out to criticise Taylor, claiming that the Queen of Country is too "perfect and unattainable", although she now sees Swift in a different light.
Lorde and Taylor Swift have now become quite friendly and Lorde has decided that it is only fair that she speaks out to praise Taylor, now that the two stars have become close. Lorde says that she has a lot of admiration for Swift, as she sees the musician as a positive role model to young girls.
Lorde explained, "I think there are artists who are really incredible role models and that's something I admire. I feel like Taylor is a really good role model and I think that the girls who listen to her music are so devoted to her, and I think what she's saying is pretty cool.
As well as praising Taylor Swift for being a goof role model, Lorde also went on to talk about their budding friendship. The 17-year-old Royals singer says that she and Taylor can relate to one another because of the similar problems that they face.
Lorde added, "It's empowering. If we have the same work problems, we know each other's lives better. It's always good befriending people who do a similar thing."
While Lorde was happy to praise Taylor Swift for being a role model, she was keen to point out that she does not yet see herself as one, as she knows she will mess up at one point or another. Have faith in yourself Lorde.
