Ever since the moment that it was announced that a remake of the hit 1991 movie Point Break was being made, there have been plenty of rumours about which stars we will say taking on the roles in the movie. It was initially revealed that British actor Gerard Butler had been cast in the role of Bodhi, which was made famous by Patrick Swayze in the original Point Break movie, but the actor had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts.
Since then, there have been a few names linked to the role of Bodhi, as well as the role of Johnny Utah, which was played by Keanu Reeves in the original Point Break film. Eventually it was announced that Edgar Ramirez would take on the role of Bodhi, while Luke Bracey had signed on to play Johnny Utah. Now another piece of casting news for the Point Break remake has been confirmed.
It has been announced that Australian actress Teresa Palmer has signed on to play the role of Tyler in the Point Break remake, a role which was originally played by actress Lori Petty. The Point Break remake will this time follow FBI agent Johnny Utah as he tries to infiltrate a gang of extreme sports enthusiasts, as they continue on a rampage of bank robberies.
As well as joining Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey in the Point Break remake, Teresa Palmer will also share the screen with Ray Winstone, Matias Varela and Clemens Schick. The Point Break remake is directed by Ericson Core, based on the screenplay developed by Kurt Wimmer, with a release date set for August 7, 2015 in the US, while a UK release has yet been confirmed.
