While Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) seemed very much in love with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) in The Amazing Spider-Man, it seems that that love will be tested in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. A lot of the original cast has already been confirmed to return, as has director Marc Webb.
Now it has been claimed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will introduce Mary Jane Watson, who was the love interest in the previous Spider-Man films. So how will this affect Peter’s relationship with Gwen and more importantly, who will be playing Mary Jane?
Well the early favourite for the role is The Descendants actress Shailene Woodley, according to Variety. With her beautiful eyes, her gorgeous smile and her stunning looks in general, Shailene seems like the ideal candidate and we could easily see Peter Parker falling for her.
As well as Mary Jane Watson, The Amazing Spider-Man will also see the introduction of Harry Osborn, although it has yet to be revealed who the villain could be so Harry’s dad Norman aka Green Goblin may not appear. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on April 18th, 2014 and in the US on May 2, 2014.
