While The Amazing Spider-Man was a very successful movie, it did raise a lot of unanswered questions, which almost made certain that a sequel would be made. Now, screenwriter Alex Kurtzman has spoken about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, admitting that a lot of these questions will be answered.
Kurtzman told Total Film, "It's interesting because the first movie asks all these questions and what I loved about it in so many ways is that it didn't answer them. Part of what we were drawn to and intrigued by was wanting to know the answers to a lot of those questions."
He added, "The villains emerge from a lot of unanswered questions at the end of that movie and none of them are random at all, they are all tied together by a theme, an idea, and I think they come from our curiosity about what was going on in the life of Peter Parker and his parents."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Felicity Jones, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, with a cameo from comic-book legend Stan Lee. Marc Webb again directs the movie, that will open on April 18, 2014 in the UK and May 2, 2014 in the US.
