In what must surely be the most highly anticipated film release of the year, The Dark Knight Rises is finally here!
It will be the last time Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale will take on the role of Batman. But that isn't what's exciting most people, it's the sexy Catwoman, Anne Hathaway, who will be donning skin-tight leathers in her portrayal of our favourite female movie baddie.
But how does Anne shape up in comparison to the Catwomen who have gone before her?
Julie Newmar was the first Catwoman on our screen in the Batman TV series in 1966, and just as the first time Catwoman sprung from the pages of the comics, she did so too, in the slender, lurex-clad suit. Adam West’s Batman was too “noble” to give in to the sexy advances of his feline foe, though.
Moving on to 1992, and we get the most mentally unstable Catwoman to grace the silver screen. But for many, she was also the sexiest ever. Michelle Peiffer’s character gains mysterious strength after a gang of stray alley cats nibble on her fingers
Now onto 2004, and the delicious Halle Berry. Hated by comic book fans for having nothing to do with the Catwoman of Gotham City and Batman legend, but loved by pretty much everyone else for her slender figure donned with a leather bra for extended periods of time. This was Catwoman’s first outing as a movie heroine.
Then of course we have Anne Hathaway, this year's answer to Catwoman. Anne looks amazing wearing a clingy leather one-piece, and the fact that she's featuring in what will probably go down as the greatest comic book film of all time is an added bonus.
