The Big Bang Theory has been going for five years now and, when it premiered back in 2007 there were some concerns that the shows geekiness might relate to the general public. How wrong those concerns were, as fans lapped it up from day one.

Sometimes the show can come out with some over the top intelligent talk but that does not confuse the viewer in the slightest, as it does not take away from the humour of the show. Before The Big Bang Theory, being a geek was not a good thing and could lead to bullying.
However, since The Big Bang Theory became a global hit, being a geek has become cool. More and more people have come at as comic book fans and showing the slightest glimpse of geekiness could raise a person’s coolness levels dramatically.

While some shows have faded as the series has progressed, The Big Bang Theory has stayed solid season on season and still manages to mix the comedy with the intelect. The Big Bang Theory continues to make geeky cool and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come.
