There have been some brilliant comedy series on television over the years and it has to be said that the hit CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory is arguably the best of the bunch. While there are a lot of shows that begin to lose their way a little after the first few season, The Big Bang Theory has managed to keep itself fresh every season, getting bigger and better along the way.
CBS have been confirming some of the shows that they have decided to renew for a new season and, while most of these shows have just been given one new season, it has been confirmed that The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for three more new seasons, much to the delight of the fans of the series, as well as everyone ivolved with the show.
Chairman of CBS Entertainment, Nina Tassler said, "Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and 'The Big Bang Theory' is the biggest comedy force on television. This multi-year deal further strengthens our network's position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We're proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week."
The main cast members of the show are believed to be preparing to negotiate new deals, with some predicting that they could be offered deals in the region of the $1m per episode that the Friends cast received.
The Big Bang Theory is now in its seventh season, which continues to air on CBS on Thursday evenings at 8/7c, and stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg and Mayi Bialik.
