It has been a long journey for everybody involved with the movie The Cabin in the Woods. It was first announced that the movie was to be made back in 2008 and filming for The Cabin in the Woods took place in 2009, with a 2010 release date expected. However, The Cabin in the Woods had its release put on hold as MGM began to fall apart. Fortunately for The Cabin in the Woods and everybody involved in the project, it was saved by Lionsgate.
Now, after a very long wait, we finally have the first official movie poster for The Cabin in the Woods and there is no denying that it is a very intriguing poster indeed.

The poster shows a cabin all twisted up like some sort of weird Rubik’s Cube with the tagline “You think you know the story”. How very mysterious. Obviously the title of the movie and the release date are also on the poster.
For those of you who are unaware of what The Cabin in the Woods is about, it centres around a group of friends who head to a cabin retreat in the woods and stubble across something very huge and horrific. However, they only manage to fathom out what it all means as their time begins running out very quickly. The Cabin in the Woods was penned by Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard, with Drew directing the movie. Chris Hemsworth, Amy Acker and Jodelle Ferland all star in The Cabin in the Woods, which is released on April 13, 2012.
