There has been a lot of discussion about the possibility of there being a remake, a reboot or whatever else you want to call it, of the 1994 hit movie The Crow but with very little progress being made. In fact, the whole project has taken quite a large step backwards in terms of where it was at this time last year, compared to where it is now. However, The Crow is finally beginning to move forward.
The problems that faced The Crow were quite complicated, yet at the same time were also very simple. The Weinstein Company looked to hit Relativity Media with a lawsuit, claiming that they owned the distribution rights to The Crow, meaning Relativity Media could not make the movie. Fortunately it has not come to that and the two have come to an agreement which will see them make the movie together.
The problems do not stop there though. The Crow did have Bradley Cooper lined up to be the star of the movie but due to the problems surrounding the film he has decided to leave the project. Also, it was believed that director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo would helm The Crow but he too has decided to jump ship. However, The Crow is beginning to make forward steps and should be ready to begin production by the end of the year. Watch this space.
