The Denver Nuggets are an NBA professional basketball team that is based in Denver, Colorado. They were originally founded in the late 1960s and went by the name of the Denver Larks at first. They were first in the American Basketball Association as a charter franchise. However, they went on to change their name from the Larks to the Rockets, right before the first season was even played by them.
The Denver Nuggets are a golden basketball team for all the right reasons. They have managed to make lots of moments of success for themselves. The Nuggets do play the majority of their home games at the Pepsi Center. They share the playing confines of the Pepsi Center along with another team called the Colorado Avalanche. The Colorado Avalanche does belong to the NHL officially.
The Denver Nuggets got their name from a contest that was held in 1974 to give the basketball team a brand new name. This is because the team was sold to two San Diego businessmen two years before and they needed another name other than the Rockets at that point in time. What makes the Denver Nuggets very special as a pro basketball team is evident and this is because it is a much beloved team of the NBA that does have a following of very faithful and loving basketball sports fans.
