Legendary cyclist Lance Armstrong, not only became a national hero but also became a global superstar when he won the Tour De France on seven consecutive occasions, following testicular cancer. However, in the past few weeks and months, Lance Armstrong has seriously fallen from grace.
Lance has since been proven to be a drugs cheat and has been stripped of all titles that he won since 1998, including all seven of his Tour De France titles. Armstrong is now looked down on and is considered a disgrace by many of those people that used to support him.
Now, it has been reported that there is a battle on between a number of top Hollywood movie studios, in a bid to win the rights to make a movie based on Lance Armstrong’s downfall. There are also a number of Hollywood stars being tipped to play Lance Armstrong, with Matt Damon leading the way.
An insider explained, “Most sports films end in an inspirational victory. It’s hard to work out what the ending would be. Lance was a hero before this scandal. The current ending is too depressing. It would be a more appealing story with a more hopeful final act.”
However, they could always make the hero of the movie Tyler Hamilton, whose book The Secret Race blew the whistle on the drugs problems within cycling.
