The Hives make long awaited return

Swedish rockers The Hives are set to make their much anticipated return to the music scene with their fifth studio album, which is set to be released on June 4. The Hives, Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, Nicholaus Arson, Chris Dangerous, Dr. Matt Destruction, and Vigilante Carlstroem will release the 12 track album Lex Hives on their own record label Disques Hives, their first album since the 2007 record The Black and White Album.

The majority of the new album from The Hives has been produced by the band themselves, along with the Grammy Award winning producer Andrew Scheps, who has previously worked with the likes of Adele and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

There are also a couple of additional tracks that were produced by D. Sardy, who has worked with Slayer and Marilyn Manson, along with Joe Zook, who has worked with Weezer and Modest Mouse.

There will also be bonus tracks on the deluxe version of Lex Hives, which have been produced by Josh Homme, the frontman for Queens of the Stone Age.

The Hives are expected to release information regarding a UK tour in the coming weeks. Watch this space.
