When it was announced that Peter Jackson was planning to make a new trilogy based on the book The Hobbit, a prequel trilogy to his Lord of the Rings movie, there were very excited fans all over the world. Unfortunately though, when the first movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, was released, it failed to meet the expectations of the fans.
The battle is building up

A year later, the sequel, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, was released and, while it still did not quite live up to people's hopes, it was a step up from the first film. Since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating the final installment of The Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which will hit the big screen later in the year.

That anticipation has continued to grow as we move closer to the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, with it getting even stronger as more and more information about the film is revealed. Peter Jackson himself recently revealed that The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will end with the biggest fight scene that they have ever done, lasting for the final 45 minutes of the film.

With fans expectations still being as high as ever, and anticipation on the rise, Peter Jackson and co. will be hoping that they can pull off the ambitious fight scene and bring The Hobbit trilogy to a close with style.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will hit the big screen on December 12 in the UK and December 17 in the US.
