There have been plenty of British actors in Hollywood for decades now but these days it feels that there are more than ever, with a whole host of British actors and actresses impressing in the acting industry these days. One such star, who has seen his acting career going from strength to strength in recent years, is the very talented actor Sam Claflin, who has landed some very impressive roles of late.
One of the biggest roles that Sam Claflin has landed in his acting career, is that of the character Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games movies and the actor has been talking about landing the role. Sam says that, while he was convinced that he could pull of the role, he did feel a little bit uncomfortable at being seen as a sex symbol.
Claflin was chatting to German magazine Jolie, when he explained, "I find it very uncomfortable, if I'm honest. Because I don't see myself that way at all. When I first got the script for The Hunger Games, I thought, 'Why is it me they want to cast as Finnick Odair?' I knew I was capable of playing him, but I found it hard to sell myself that way. Because I just can't understand why anyone should find me sexy."
We first saw Sam Claflin in the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire last year and he will reprise that role on the big screen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which will open on November 20 in the UK and November 21 in the US. Sam will then make his final outing as Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which opens on November 20, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
