The life and times of Ryan Dunn

American television personality Ryan Dunn was probably best known as a daredevil and stunt man as part of the Jackass team, as well as appearing on Viva La Bam. He was born in Medina, Ohio on June 11, 1977 and died in a tragic car accident on June 20, 2011.

Ryan was one of the original members of the Jackass team and his crazy stunts, along with the rest of the team, were what made Jackass so famous. Dunn also appeared in all three of the Jackass movies Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two and Jackass 3D.

Ryan Dunn also turned his hand to acting appearing in a number of movies and also playing the character Riley Slade in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He is also set to be seen in two more movies, Welcome to the Bates Motel and Booted, which are due to be released in the coming year.

On June 20, 2011, at around 3:30 a.m. EDT Ryan Dunn’s Porsche 911 GT3 lost control and shot off of the road and hit a tree killing both Ryan and the passenger Zachary Hartwell. Reports showed that Ryan Dunn was over twice the legal blood alcohol level and was also travelling between 132 and 140 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Ryan Dunn’s death affected many. Not only his loved ones but also his fans around the world and even some who had not heard of him up to that point. However, it would appear that none were more affected than his best friend Bam Margera, who broke down when visiting the crash site.

On the Wednesday after the crash a group of friends, which included his Jackass co stars Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera, as well as April Margera, Phil Margera, Jeff Tremaine and Bam's wife Missy Margera, attended a private ceremony in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The remains of Ryan Dunn were taken to his home state of Ohio for burial. Ryan Dunn may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
