The Marvel vs DC movie debate

No matter who you and where you are from, you will no doubt have heard of Marvel and DC or at least some of their top characters. Most of you will even have your allegiance set to one of them and back them over the other no matter what.

Now that comic book movies seem to be taking over Hollywood, the big debate comes as to who out of Marvel and DC are making the best movies and have the best plans. Marvel currently appear to have the upper hand over DC and have been executing their plan to perfection.

However, DC is a sleeping giant full of comic book characters who are more than capable of holding their own on the big screen. Unfortunately, they only ever appear to have success with Batman and Superman movies but all that could be set to change in the coming years.

While Marvel pushed out a number of individual movies, such as Captain America, Iron Man and Thor, they were all leading up to The Avengers movie and Marvel already have a whole host of sequels and new characters lined up for their fans.

Meanwhile, it appears that DC could be going the opposite way to Marvel. The plan that DC seems to be going with is that they are going to push out a Justice League movie first, starring the likes of The Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman and then give these characters stand alone movies off of the back of the Justice League film.

DC are also expected to introduce a new Batman to the fold in the Justice League movie, as well as a new Green Lantern and Henry Cavill’s Superman. This will give DC the platform to then push out new stand alone movies and even introduce future characters.

So, while Marvel certainly have the edge at the moment, we could see a DC rise in the future and the battle of the comic book movies can really begin to flourish. We, for one, cannot wait.

Are you a Marvel fan or a DC geek or can you not decide between the two?
