The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny in the hit CBS comedy series, recently posted a tweet, promoting the new Dish Hopper service. However, that tweet was mysteriously removed by the actress, causing Dish to accuse CBS of forcing her to take the tweet down.
Joe Clayton, Dish president and CEO, stated, "It's disappointing that CBS – once the exemplar of editorial independence and innovation – continues to use its heavy hand to hold back progress from consumers."
Meanwhile, CBS deny these allegations, telling The Wrap, "Once again, Joe Clayton demonstrates his dubious gift for hyperbole and hucksterism. No demands were made, but it's clear that Dish's culture of fabrication is alive and well."
Dish claim that they paid Kaley Cuoco to post the tweet on her official Twitter account, in a bid to take advantage of her pulling power and the fact that she has around 1.2 million followers. However, CBS are currently in the middle of a lawsuit with Dish, which is believed to be the reason that Kaley chose to remove the tweet.
Have you used the Dish Hopper service? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
